Automation is your quiet growth engine
The best automations are invisible to customers and priceless to your team. They recover sales you would have lost, handle repetitive admin and create a consistent customer experience at any scale.
1. Abandoned cart recovery
A short sequence of two or three emails or SMS messages, sent within 24 hours, reminds shoppers what they left behind. Add product images, reviews and a clear link back to their cart.
2. Welcome series
New subscribers are at their most engaged. A welcome series introduces your brand story, best sellers and any first-order offer, and it consistently drives a large share of email revenue.
3. Post-purchase follow-up
Thank the customer, share how to use the product and, a few weeks later, ask for a review. Reviews feed your product pages, ads and SEO.
4. Low-stock and order alerts
Notify your team in Slack or email when inventory runs low or a high-value order arrives, so nothing sells out unexpectedly and VIP customers get special attention.
5. Win-back campaigns
Customers who have not bought in a while can be re-engaged with a personal message, new arrivals or a small incentive, which is far cheaper than acquiring new ones.
How to measure whether they work
Give every automation one clear number. For abandoned cart flows, track recovered revenue. For welcome series, track first-purchase rate. For post-purchase emails, track reviews collected and repeat orders. For internal alerts, track stockouts avoided and hours saved.
Review the numbers monthly and improve one flow at a time. Small changes to timing, subject lines or the offer can make a real difference, and because the flow runs automatically, each improvement keeps paying back.
Keep customer experience in mind as well. Exclude people who have already purchased from recovery messages, respect unsubscribes straight away and limit how many messages anyone receives in a week. Helpful automation feels like good service; careless automation feels like spam.
